Barn and Tree, Norway
Toned Cyanotype
6.5 x 4.25 inches
I have found my creative voice in conversation with trees. From my early memories of walking through the park to school to the willow tree I visited for comfort as I studied at the University of Delaware to my time in national parks, particularly as an Artist-in-Residence in Yosemite National Park, tree speak with me and to me.
These images are from my exploration of the Norwegian landscape, a place of my heart where trees are precious. When I commune with trees, I feel their voice and invite them to speak in my photographs.
Printed on Bergger Cot 320 paper with hand-applied cyanotype emulsion and then toned in tea, these images are quiet meditations on the landscape and the constancy of trees in my life.
